Who says blogs have to be topic specific?

Hello world. Welcome to my blog. My very first blog.

I'd been wanting to start a blog for a very long time now, but could never decide on the topic. There are so many! Should I write about my perception of the ways of the world as a Mexican-American woman? Meh...it's been done. Plus, media about the struggels and against-the-odds empowerment of Hispanic women is so early nineties.

Should I share my opinion on current events? Overdone. Should I write about my favorite topic in the world? Nah...there's already foodnetwork.com. What about playing food critic and bloging about the hiddent gems I've found in Miami? A local's guide to great local eats, if you will. That would be kind of cool, but there are only so many gems...and even fewer of them are hidden, so that blog would be over before you could say "Soya & Pomodoro". Or maybe "Miami on a Budget: How to live in Miami on a Miami Salary." Story of my life; that would be a great one.

But, no. I've decided that I don't want the pressure or the restriction of having to focus on only one specific topic to write about (don't limit me), so this blog is going to be about absolutely everything. Everything I mentioned above and then some. I may blog about my experience as one of maybe 3 or 4 Mexicans in Miami, or about moving to Miami, or about products I like...or don't. In any case, get ready to be blown away by the randomness of this blog. It's going to be so random, I give it a month before it's published by Random House. As a matter of fact, if you're reading this after June 25, 2010 go ahead and start looking for it in bookstores.
